What is Fear of Failure
According to psychologists, fear is linked to guilt and embarrassment that leads to perfectionism.
And that perfectionism and feelings of unworthiness can lead to worry about failure and making mistakes!
Those who fear failure may find themselves paralysed by their thoughts, fears and unable to meet their goals.
Remember, everyone experiences a fear of failure at some time in their life! The goal isn’t to let it run your life.
Avoiding action because you’re not sure you’re capable of doing it properly is a typical perfectionist reaction.
When one feels unworthy or not good enough, they may do their best to avoid taking action in case they make errors.
Making mistakes for a perfectionist is extremely humiliating, and the prospect of having to confront such difficulty is terrifying, hence they avoid taking action.
Remember that feeling of anxiety and guilt are part of the process of risk-taking in life.
The more you avoid negative feelings by not taking risks, the greater your fear is likely to grow over time.
What can you do to overcome your concerns about failure? As demonstrated below, there are a variety of ways to manage your fear of failure!
Recognising Your Fear of Failure
Take a moment to consider when you’ve been afraid of failing to start or finish a goal or activity.
If you answered yes to any of the following questions, you’re not alone!
– Have you ever felt overwhelmed with fear because you didn’t know how to get started on a project?
– Do your anxious feelings about work or school performance turn into avoidance strategies?
– Is being afraid of failure makes it difficult for you to get motivated and stay committed to your goals?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, fear of failure may be causing you to act in unproductive ways.
Even though your fears are understandable, it is very important for you to take action towards achieving your goal!
Maybe you wanted to start a new project, switching jobs, or any other major change you wanted to make. The learning is the more you dwell on your past experiences, the more you understand how to overcome it!
Fear of failure is a powerful emotion that you may experience at any time, and which urges you to put off and avoid objectives.
Procrastination is a serious issue these days, owing to our modern culture’s fear of failure. This anxiety makes it more difficult for you to plan and complete your chores on time.

Understanding the Psychology of Fear
Fearing failure is an overpowering feeling, but research indicates it’s better to face the fear and just act than to pretend everything’s fine.
I was anxious about failing to pass my driving test 9 years ago since I was afraid to drive. It was because I had vivid images of me causing accidents and I felt terrified. A terrifying feeling caused by a phobia of driving.
Following this, I decided to tackle my phobia of driving and do something about it since it was consuming too much of my time.
It was then that I discovered how those pessimistic ideas were influencing my emotions and behaviour.
But I didn’t allow my fear to hold me back any longer, so I began utilising strong tactics and getting numerous driving lessons.
Then not only did I conquer my fear of driving, but I also worked my hardest to pass my full driver’s license on the first try! Was such a proud moment and a great desire to share my knowledge with others.
So, I’m thrilled to share my successful strategies for overcoming fears and phobia with you!
Find below the three methods for overcoming the anxiety and fears that I’ve discovered.
The 3 GREAT TIPS to Overcome Fears of Failure
My narrative begins with the fact that I had faith in myself and knew I could achieve any objective, as well as the experience of working with hundreds of individuals to simply take action and achieve their goals for over 13 years.
It feels good to overcome fear by directly engaging your attitude and building a positive perspective to take action and become fearless.
Because I understand how long you can dwell on the past disappointments, create fears and phobias, my goal is to assist millions of people just like you to boost your self-confidence to achieve your goals.
After years of study, research, and training, I decided to develop the Take Action Now Transformational Program with the acronym YFST.
An acronym inspired from my first book, Your Future Starts Today. Check it out HERE for more tips and secrets on mindset hacks.
Furthermore, I’d like to share three easy and effective procedures that I and my clients used to overcome anxiety and take action towards achieving objectives:
1. First Tip
Make a list of all the things you’ll need to complete the goal and write it down.
Then, make a note of the deadline for achieving that objective.
This technique is based on the notion that you’ll be eager to complete the task as soon as possible and will feel fantastic once it’s finished.
2. Second Tip
Start the task/activity at least 5 minutes before your deadline time (and work towards your goal) and once you accomplish that, continue up until you complete it.
Make sure to reward yourself when you’ve finished taking action instead of worrying about failing since this is guaranteed to make you feel worse and cause more anxiety.
This may seem difficult at first, but repeated practice will transform your mind into having greater confidence and the belief that you can do anything you.
3. Third Tip
Creative technique to remove fear from your mind
Perhaps you’ve heard people claim, “You’re not creative.” When I hear something like that, I immediately think of my approach to creative problem-solving.
“Creative” shouldn’t be confused with unusual or odd. It means being original and unique because it refers to something new.
This is a straightforward approach that anybody can do, and it has been demonstrated to be quite effective.
You may recall how you feel when you imagine your favourite foods or, for example, chocolate.
You see it in your mind’s eye and think about the memories you have of eating your beloved food or chocolate.
When you smell or taste your favourite meal, you recall memories, experience pleasure and a desire to eat chocolate that is stronger than ever. Is your mind really that strong?
Now, find a quiet spot where you can sit and relax. You’re probably envisioning yourself failing or not coping well when you think of beginning or working on this objective. So, in your mind, create this picture of yourself being afraid — smaller and smaller until you can’t see anything else.
Then wave it away like you do when a fly is annoying you and wishes to be free, like the way you’d flutter your hand away.
Furthermore, as you wave away the undesirable image, a large, brilliant image appears in your mind and is you confident and happy – accomplishing that aim.
I’m sure you remember how wonderful, successful you felt after accomplishing your objective.
Feel that sense of fulfilment and great self-assurance once more.
I’m sure you’re just as astonished as to how powerful your present sense of happiness is! The key is your new attitude!
A Successful Story Starts with a Strong Mindset
As an illustration, I saw myself sitting in the vehicle next to the examiner, happy, comfortable, and certain to drive when I imagined myself passing the driving test. “Why didn’t I take this test sooner?” It was a lot simpler than I had anticipated. Yes, it’s true!”
Come back to the present moment, open your eyes, and be aware of how much happier you feel than before when you feared something that is attainable!
Consider what you could do differently to help you achieve your objective.
What counsel do you give yourself when attempting a new task? Keep track of all these answers so that you may apply them as directed pointers to achieving your goal.
Most importantly, picture the advantages that will result from merely having less fear and confidence while pursuing your aim.
